Hairdryer? You just heat them up? I had tried some alcohol but that didnt work too well.

Yep, heat makes most glues used on stickers of all types release. So just heat it up a bit and peel carefully. Ive bought used dvd's that had rental place stickers on them, and I was able to easily take them off. I guess the rental shops either dont know about this or they dont wanna spend the time.
