What's wrong with installing from your originals,keeping them safe somewhere, applying a crack and playing from backups and/or without CDs?
Here's how i think it works: If for some reason you lose your originals you are no longer considered an owner of the game, therefore you cannot use backups to install them. Why I use cracks: To keep originals safe - but that's not the real reason, which is that I hate swapping CDs. (to the point where I bought a couple of extra HDDs to store images for backup-cd type cracks) Keep in mind that for most games you can only have 1 copy installed on 1 computer, not 2 computers you own, not your friends/wife/family/children's computer. Why do you need to install from a backup?
