u should use the nfsu2 crack file avaliabe at gcw site , i think what is happening is that ur Version of the game might be different then the version the crack supports.
Just try this simple process . Install the game and then copy the crack file to the directory where you installed the game and try it out. i did the same thing and it works just fine.
