I would suggest just using the line :-

dahack 1st_read.bin 0

then burn all the data incl. ip.bin to mode 1 disk and see if it works with the boot loader cd. I think it will.

Also you can only use dahack, hack3 etc. on unmodified bin files, so don't try using dahack on a file after using hack3, it won't work as they need to have fresh, un-modified bin files.

If this works then convert to selfboot.
