Having a PS2 on the carpet allows the dust to enter quicker though the fan and settle on the motherboard/laser. Which will wreck your laser fast, just like uses rubbish media.

One more thing
One last thought. Hd loader only works with ps2 games. Don't plan on saving psx games on it because it won't work. You gotta have a chip for psx game backups. Overall, if you can find hd loader -you will love it.
