I changed from a DLink "wired" to a Linksys wireless recently and it wouldn"t connect to Xbox straight away. Linksys had a different IP address than the DLink. Make sure you change it in your Evox as well as whatever FTP prog you use such as Flash. Try 192.168.1.157, this should work fine. If not just go to the Linksys site where you sign in as admin and see what IP is used.
One thing I can tell you is that wireless is very slow FTPing compared to when it's wired. I connected my Xbox directly back to the router and it's flying. Hope this helps, Mike T. |

I will check out the settings again.....I am using it the same way as the dlink....wired.....Just my laptop is wireless. I use WS_FTP and the IP's match in evox and the FTP Prog. Should I login to the router and check it out as well.....What should I look for.....I know enough to be dangerous....... :-)

Your IP setting is: IP 192.168.0.156. When I had the Dlink, my third number set was "0" also. Linksys uses "1" as the third number set. When you login to your router, it should bring you to the setup screen and you should see your local IP address. Most probably your third number set will show "1".
You should also scroll down a bit and look at Local Dhcp Server. Check the Start IP Address and also the Dhcp Address range. Make sure it coincides with your last number set of "156". Because your last number set is "156", your address range should start from "100". To play it safe, I made my range go from "100" to "169". In other words, I entered "70" in the "number of address" field. I also changed the third number set in my Evox and my FTP prog from "0" to "1". In other words, IP: 192.168.1.156 should work for you. You also have to change your Default Gateway to 192.168.1.1 in Evox. If this doesn't work for you, sorry I don't have the answer. I do know the Linksys is definitely compatible with Xbox and works fine. Good Luck! Mike T. |
