Upgrading from Sacred no-CD 1.66 to official 1.7
Can somebody tell me if I need to do anything special to update my game? I got the no-CD files for version 1.66 here off of Gamecopyworld. Do I have to wipe the installation clean to update to 1.7? Or can I just run it? Usually, if I have a no-CD crack, I have to put back the original file to patch the game.
Should I then download the "plus" patch? |

You'll need a new crack for the plus patch as that upgrades the game EXE and some DLL's.
Seems there are some bugs in the Plus patch, save game incompatibilities and instakill skeleton mages

Most of you probably know there is an emulation method for Sacred 1.7 and 1.8 (PLUS)… but it doesn’t work for everyone.
Here is the link: http://www.mgforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31214 Anyway it think it’s been 2 weeks now since 1.7 was released and PLUS adds new content so it wouldn’t be a waste of time cracking it. Maybe using the same method they used in 1.6 will work for 1.7 and PLUS but I don’t know… also I don’t think they will release any patches until the expansion… probably 1 more for PLUS. All we need is better emulation so we can run 1.6 and higher versions. Last edited by H~PULSE; 26-10-2004 at 20:25. |
