Wow... I looked over your picture pretty will thanks to the excellent quality of it, and didnt see anything that looked out of the ordinary. But a picture is only worth 1000 works not the 2000 problems that it could be. No just kidding more like 500....

Anyway if something was installed improperly you might be getting some strange results like a black screen or tray not ejecting or things along that line, so I would be willing to bet that one wire or more isnt making a complete connection. Also I cant see that the 'I' wire is going to the right pad just make sure it is, other then that from what the picture shows it all looks correct.

Good luck!

here is odd thing sometimes the ps2 will turn on with no picture or sound. depends how i start the the ps2 with the eject button or the resert button. not always the same. one time the ps2 kept play the wave sound effect over and over.... ver odd....

i read on some other post about a fuse on the duo 2? what are the readings of some of the resister/fuse looking parts on the duo2?
how can you tell if you have a clone duo2?

could be a solder bridge around the chip legs you soldered to get a good strong Magnifying glass and look over these points at diffrent angles does the ps2 boot a Original ps2 game when the chip is disabled if it will you could have a dry joint(wire not in good contact with solder)or you could have a brake in the wire, get a set of test clocks and ground one of the wires from the clocks on the ps2 mobo ie copper bit at the side of the board make sure that it is clean so you get a good contact, now other side test all the solder points on the duo chip set the clocks to 2000 omes and you should get a reading off all points if your wiring is ok. Will the ps2 boot ps1 backups if it will then the wiring is the fault if not you could have a dead chip duos are very good chips and a dead chip is rare but can happen

seaneyb2003 is an unknown quantity at this point
Hey Dude,

sounds like a problem i had. Right desolder the bios area thats located in at the bottom of the board in the middle. Make the wires smaller and this is where i messed up i bridged a pin and desolderd and ended up desoldering the connection between the chip leg and the pad connectiong the chip to the board. Put some fresh solder on the nib not alot and gently touch the bottom of the chip leg. Then resolder the 4 wires back to the chip and reassemble that should do the trick.

i check for resistance from a ground plain to each point on the chip and i get some reading. so i would guess all my wires are good?

Question re

ya there the same thing test clocks/meter your wiring seems fine so look for solder bridges but as Original ps2/1 games work and the ps2 is not making Electrical interference noises when it boots then solder bridges dont seem likely sounds as if it is not getting power but your install pic is 100% so could be a dead chip did u check the chip from the ground point on the chip or the copper peice at the side of the board recheck using the copper peice of the ps2 board as this will show up any fault in the wiring as the chip points are grounded by the chip so it will give u a reading even if no wire is conected to the chip
