Homebrew emu's wearout lasers?
i have decided to try to loadan emulator (snes station) and i got it working.. but something weird happens... it seems like the cd-r where all the roms and emulator is on.. is spinning extremly fast that when i put my hand on top of my ps2... it vibrates my hand
is this normal? does running homebrew emulator apps slowing tear apart your laser? is it the same for any app regardless if its an emulator or not?

I used to play Snes Station before I got an xbox. I don’t remember anything out of the ordinary as far as drive noise. I mean that just about any PS2 CD-ROM will make all sorts of loud crazy noises. It should spin down after loading the rom, I can’t remember. You should be able to eject the CD after loading a rom, if you’re going to be playing the same rom for a while. That way your PS2 drive won’t be running for no reason while you play Zelda for hours.
