Talking No no no...

Ah.

I have an X2.3b Lite [+] with a switch. The mod was disabled, booted straight into the proper MS Bios and MS Dash (titled xboxdash.xbe), and a locked hard drive. I hope I covered all my bases. I'm not aware of any other precautions against banning; is there more?

Now let's say I somehow did get banned with this particular box (and detection & banning would have occured at login, correct?)? If I had another unmod'd box, could I use my account with it?

By the way Quall, I bought a little wire rack-like thing (like a letter-paper sized wire basket) and set my box on top, just to get open air on the underside too. My temps are stable at 47-48 C after 2 hours of gaming. Just a thought.

Well, all x-ecuter bios 4981 and newer have an "xbox live disabler" patch. Basically, it stops xbox live from accessing the internet. I don't know specifically how though, since I didn't research it at all. Never the less, that is not something to rely on (as they put it), it is just a protective measure which can still fail (although I haven't heard of it stop working yet).

Also, since xbl only banneds the xbox's eeprom, you can still use the account on another xbox. Alternatively, you can get a new eeprom for the banned xbox and have it live enabled once again.

I've got my box modded with a TSOP mod so if you are actually banned (You r chip by the sound of it will work online and all) I may be able to give you my eeprom so you can still use live

No use me having it...Plus adsl/dsl connections in New Zealand are only like 256k residential and soon to be 2mb/192k in like 2 months

Hey, how did you guys up your fan speed? Did you rewire the fans ground wire to the xbox mobo or is there a setting in one of the dashboards? Was thinking about rewiring my fan as per the tute on xbox scene but if there is an easier way would like to try that first.
Cheers.

It can be configured in the bios. Use something like XBtool to edit bios. I believe th setting it is located in the bottem left of that program. (x2_4983 is encrypted and not supported).

I tried out another online game for a few minutes (still worried that my system might overheat), but apperantly I am not banned since I was able to login and play a few rounds.
