Did you try your new burns on any other PS2? Everyone’s dumping on your old PS2 so bad that nobody’s addressed the possibility that your burner might be getting weak.

Do DVD burners get weak? I'm trying to find another PS2 to try it on... However, there does exist the possibility that my backups will work on someone else's machine with a stronger laser!
It's quite obvious from my observations that my PS2 is working fine, since I can still play backups that I burnt previously. So it's not my PS2 or chip... unless some new copy protection came out, which everyone refuted... Thanks!

They do, but over a super-long time if they are looked after properly. More than likely, it's the PS2 laser...
