hey,
I have personally not done any backups with that dye, but my friend ryan says he has done backups with this dye as thats all he can get at a local store. He pays £12 for 25 blanks. He has noticed no difference, but has not had any problems or anything with them

In my experiance stick with G04.
The G05 i have used have been pants....the backups have jumpy FMV's and this can cause lock-ups. Also there pants for DVD movies in my experience. There ok for PC game back-ups though So to summarise there just pants, unless its for a PC  I had used Ritek Ridisc 8x G05. And a Sony DWU-18a (OEM Version of the DRU-530a) on a v10 PS2 with Matrix Infinity. The best media i have ever used has to be the RiData ones with Ritek G04 dye. Rock Solid Reliabilty for any purpose.
