Tuts should only be seen as a guideline if you have no clue what you're up to.
As I said, it can be done *quite* easy if you know what you're dealing with.
Learn to pass the debugger checks first (easy), find Oep, get decrypted stuff, dump, rebuild IAT. A good tracer could be your best friend and oh, be careful when putting bpx:s on api, safedisc checks them and if it catches you...bye-bye..now you have some good clues
