@Grumpy: Thanks!!!
![]() And respecting Diablo II, well, it does not use the windows installing system (.msi), but blizzard one. Because of this, u should edit the installation files with another program (WinMPQ) in order to fix .exe and volumes ( i think it is not needed). As grumpy said, in cdsteam there are extensive tutorials about ( u should translate into english with babelfish for example). Uhh, forgot it. I have wrote a SF checking Tutorial there. Most advanced users here "SHOULD" read it ![]() Greetz.... Morg.

No problems Morglum007, I am one who believes credit should be given to the right people.
![]() I failed to mention in my earlier post that I dont actually have the Diablo 2 game so I was merely guessing about the 'msi' file! And once again Morglum007 helps us all again.

Hmm...
I just dumped all 3 of my Diablo II CD's to a folder on my hd, dragged all the files from that folder into WinISO and saved an ISO image, mounted the ISO in Daemon Tools and ran the SETUP.EXE, selected FULL INSTALL and it installed without asking to insert any CD. Just needs CD2 in the drive to play! Uninstalled and tried just a Single Player then a Multiplayer install, and again it didn't ask to insert any CD. Burned the files to a DVD+RW to test installing from a DVD drive and does not ask for any CD's after trying all 3 install options! Are you copying the files to the root of the DVD? Also, only copy the D2CHAR.MPQ and D2MUSIC.MPQ files from CD2/Play Disc and the D2VIDEO.MPQ file from CD3/Cinematics Disc to the DVD. |

@TexN:
Try to load first the .txt file relative to Diablo 2. Then, files will appear as is, and not so confusing. @BarryB: By this i think he is trying to insert main .exe into .mpq, so installation is like original one, without exe replacing after all. ![]() Morg.

@Morglum007: I think he just wants to do what I've just done and install using any of the 3 install options without it asking for a CD. He doesn't need to muck about with the MPQ files as it installs with no modifications to any files.
The install.exe checks for files being in the root of the CD/DVD, that's the only criteria that matters, so don't put the files in a folder! |

I'm trying to also do the expansion CD... with just the core d2 install files it works fine. i think it was when i tried to tie in the exp is when i got the problems. any ideas on that one? like the standard install, the exp also has the install and setup exe's. thx...
