In all my time of backing up dvd movies, Ive come across a couple of discs that do this. Theyve even played all the way through in my standalone as well. But when I tried to back them up they just wont.
I now just sell these games on ebay and purchase another one. Every single time after that Ive been able to back the new dvd up. Tyler!

Well, the thing that leads me to believe that mine has this new protection is that all apps report that there is no CSS protection anywhere on the disc at all. And since this is a commercial DVD, I would think that the company would use SOME form of protection to prevent copying. Maybe they went the route of using the bad sectors instead of the traditional CSS. I've talked to 3 other people so far that have this disc, and they all get stuck at exactly the same place that I do. I'll wait and see if Slysoft comes out with a new version that can work around this.

Its been known to happen that some dvd's dont have CSS. "Ghost in the Shell" for one doesnt have any protection.
