I had the same problem with avg and decided to try avast instead to see if it was any better. I got it installed and it seems to be working pretty good. Has any of you guys used it before? I can always reinstall avg again later but I wanted to check here and see if any of you have any input on it.

Thanks, CGL

Eakinsme, restart the pc and click F8 so u start in safe mode, then youll be able to uninstall it then restart the pc and let it run as normal and thats ur prob gone, and no Crazy, never tried it, in fact, never heard of it :P Im quite comfy with my security package (Avg, Zonealarm, Adaware and Spyboth) seems to be a good combinations of programs and never had probs

easiest anwser. Dont go on porn lol

And get a better scanner, AVG does not pick up micro virus's and is easy to disable, use house call like one a week/month for extra security as it cant be disbled as its online. But the website can be blocked by trojans/virus's

Get a good anti virus and firewall...
I recommend Kaspersky anti-virus and anti-hacker, most people use norton... and quite frankly it sux major donkey-d***

http://www.kaspersky.com/

Some guys who create trojans, code the trojan so it disables your antivirus and firewall software. Making your scanning efforts futile...
Ofcourse a good online scan can make a difference.

I can't remember where but you can tell AVG to do a virus scan on reboot.....it will scan your pc and remove the virus's before your registry has a chance to kick in.

Other than that have you tried booting into safe mode and seeing what AVG can do there?

Also maybe worth trying ADAWARE. May be adware rather than a virus
