If the original is broken or damaged to the point of non playing status, wouldnt the proper coarse of action be to either repurchase or consult the manufacture and see if they could replace it for you? I seriously doubt they would replace it due to user error/accident. In which case it is definitely not able to be backed up if broken so repurchase is inevidable. (if you want to play this game again). Unfortunately this is all of the help we can offer because you must own the original and to back it up, it must be in a condition to be backed up. Super glue and Duct tape simply wont work in these situations! (just joking)Edit: Here is a link you can try in regard to repurchasing the game.
