Yes its true they can't play some games without jumping through hoops. There is a list at swapmagicfix.com They can be worked around but involve extra effort. And yes you have to actually swap discs as the product name implies. |

Sped
I'm not suggesting anything other than, when you give someone information to make an intelligent informed decision, make sure its fact. Yes those two faults alone make a mod better than the flip case. But when you factor in other things such as Cost.. Replacement.. Install.. Frequency of use.. It might not seem so bad to the once in awhile gamer.. This isn't an attack so don't get offended by it.. But when you do something like giving out advice, look at it from all views.. Pros and Cons from A and B. Try to leave out opinion: 2) The flip tops inventor is a low down dirty thief that steals other ideas and work, so why support it! 5) Flip Flops just plan old look ugly. 6) Last but not least mod chips are just sweet baby! and stick with fact.. 4) Swap crap isn’t totally compatible with some games and thus more patching is needed to get the game to work properly, or even more swapping (cont) |

What you view as my opinions, I view as facts. Now #2 is not opinion by any means of this matter, but straight up fact, and if you don’t know this you haven’t been around long enough to witness it. Here is another fact, the price of a mod install is any where from $60-$70, now when you add up all the stuff to make the flip top work your in the same ball park. So there is another point shot down.
But in the end you are some what correct, only the end user can decide what is best for him, I'm just giving out some sound advice as to what is better, and that would be a mod chip any day. There are many factors you can try and throw into this pot but the question was to help him decide and he already said money isn’t a factor...... so lets make this a little easier to wrap your mind around What’s better? A Ferrari or a Fiat..... Get the idea?

Good point!
Heres a fact for ya and i only need a "1." 1.The flip top swap sux in every regard except for price and the easy install.I have personally never had any problem with any game booting up with my mod chip and I have never had to patch anything, or waste time looking for a patch that will work. The laser will last longer with a mod chip as well.

Only a mis-informed idiot would buy a flip lid over a no-swap chip. They are a crap choice for playing backups. Damned if i want to search for a patch everytime i backup one of my games. As Sped, CGL and myself stated above, No-swap chips are very affordable. Not much difference in price between the two so the choice should be obvious.

Exactly. Unfortunately those idiots get mis-informed from the site that actually sells them. @Neipas, Trust me man, Ive dealt with Z the maker of the flip ****s from way back in the day. I know how he is. Im am just trying to keep people from making the same old mistakes that countless other people have already made. He is a thieving bastard. Tyler!
