Regarding to the Blue Disc Situation, I believe I heard about it while back from $ony's mouth that they're using it for PS3..Also I did hear that it was PS1-2 backwards compatible..
Blue Laser Burner will be out for sale sometime soon so you can bet that in X amount of time All of us should be able to back up the games at ease.. Only thing I did hear was Like Xbox games you cannot insert the Disc right into the Disc drive make image and copy..So assuming that Copy protection has to be circumvented..But once again Anything Human Made,Human Broken I say.. HD Idea would be interersting, $ony should take the Idea from M$ and save themselves from selling Memory Card's..But We're talking about $ony here so all of us will end up purchasing memory cards.. Last Like I did with the current PS2(V10) I will not be Purchasing on Day 1 nor till price drops and waiting till at least 2-3 Versions later so that I don't have to worry about breaking down easily..I had so many of my friends who purchased PS2 V1-V4 that broke down after so many months that they ended it up buying Xboxes(which they're fairly more than happy with since The Xbox Modchip scene came around).. My .02 Cents here..

Interesting article there Freefighter!
I wonder if they will be able to incorporate the ability to play current DVD's and PS2 games. That remains to be seen. I sure hope so.

well, bluray uses a blue laser which while having a shorter wavelength, is still capable of reading cds and dvds so there is no reason why not. Also opens up possibilities of Bluray to dvd rips of ps3 games.
