umm yea
i formatted a new disk to boot to msdos (usin winxp format) and i got to msdos but it didnt recognize any drive i tried formatting c:\ it said invalid drive or some sh*t am i doin somethin wrong or somethin? .. yea i just tried to boot hdd first then disk but it just went into windows.. so yea.. .. yea i also tried goin to start then run and format c it said drives in use and it could dismount it i said no to dismounting it then formatting it could that be somethin thatll work?

no it has to be in dos, ok try this.
insert the win xp cd in (set the bios to read cd drive first) then reboot the pc and it should take u to the setup program, i believe u can delete any partition there so just delete partition c: and it should do the job, then just carry on with the installation.
