i did, and am greatly appreciative.
also, the ribbon to the power button was accidentally left unsecured, so I did as little dismantlin as possible while trying to repair, so, i am gonna gamble that's the problem. thanks man.

opened back up, discovered 2 wires that go to the behind were severed.
fixed, back together, still no dice. its fire'n up, but wont kick off the splash screen. and eject is staying lit. but unit will eject. thoughts? or should i just send the damn thing off?
