maby this will help, first clean you're lens. I'am also play driv3r. I burend the game on a DVD and i works fine!

if it freezes at the loading screen, then try doing creating an iso. This seems to be a common problem with the data burn. And the game freezes because it is loading parts of the city. if you play off your HDD, this shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah I am playing off my hard-drive when it freezes at the loading screen ...

Yeah the game blows, but I just like riding around on the motorcycle, not actually doing the story ... heh

i had the same problem with this and other games.... the best thing to do is.. clean your lens or get a new dvd-rom... put the game in and run it for a lil while to make sure it dont freeze then delete your hdd copy and re copy it to your hdd... and it works fine...
