It may be detecting the media since its a burner. Theres a couple progs that can 'hide media'.

The ununusal thing is my desktop is a LG 4040B DVD writer and this does not give any problems just the lappy
RK - its not bad, scored 9887 in 3dmark2001Se with high details selected, so should keep me content playing C&C. Ash2dust- Can you advice which programmes they are?? |

I believe alcohol does and I forgot the name of the small file that specifically does this. I stick with No-CD's and images so far. No need for me to make a backup then.
