No because you can disable the DMS3 for when you want to play original games from the HDD like FFXI, and the DMS3 is compatible with the HDD and will still allow you to play your back-ups with the chip enabled. The infinity has these same features.

Great to hear
 Direct booting of all games, HDD support and NTSC/PAL mode forcing, sounds like my chip At the moment im probably going to get it modded somewhere near the end of the year
