when are the final version of 5.1 gonna be released cdkiller?

there are still some features to code, protections to be speeded up and improved and the usual additions.
well atm the current changelog is as 3 times as big as the last v5.0.

but i´m proud to say pid v5.1 is the most enhanced version ever and detects nearly every kind of executable protectors and modifiers, including
the most setup stubs (installshield, wise setup, winzip sfx...), some wide spread virus / trojans including their variants (NetSky, Sober, Bugbear, MyDoom) and all the latest exe crypter / packer i´ve found on the net.
also the cd/dvd sector scanning for protections will see some major changes
(atm only Tagés and StarForce 3 keyless scanning is possible).
the pc game protections will also be updated, no worries about that...
best is the high detection speed due many code improvements and a new PE modification code.

I'll be dam.... very nice update list... but my question...why not version 6? why 5.1 with such a big major update and upgrade...

depends on the progress of the tool. v6.0 is a very huge step.
like i said it´s still a lot to be coded and improved. time will show if it will be v6.0, but chances are very good

ckiller in the new version if you scan the exe and it has starforce, make it show what version of starforce is ok?cause now if it's 1/2/3 it shows just starforce

Each Starforce protected game has a PROTECT.DLL in the Install-Dir.
Scan it and you will get the version of the Starforce protection.

sure. the next version allows you to scan the games.exe and to display the version. (will be auto grabbed from the *.dll wich is referenced in the exe)
