Connecting my XBOX to my pc

Ok, thanks for all the replies. I set the defualt gateway on the xbox to the same as the ip, but it didn't work. Still getting time-out messages. I'm begining to think i've tried nearly every basic combination of ip addresses. Is there anything else i can do?? Is there any site that deals in depth with these problems?? (Besides this one ) Could it be a problem with my computer? I network my computer all the time with friends, so i don't know why it would be, but hey, hwat do i know. Any help would be great.
