You should try searching the board first.
This has been answered numerous times.

The type will depend on several things.

What type of disc will your burner burn.

If it burns both, then what version of PS2 do you have?

The General Rule of thumb is if you have a V5 or higher then most of the time either type will work.

If you have a V4 or below you should probably stay with -R format.

The brand that most use on this board are Ritek G03/G04... (or any disc with a ritek dye)

Try different kinds untill you find what works best for you.
