Not only that but it’s the same idea as that peace of crap neo-12 mod that I posted about the other day. And its not "only 13 wires" you have to count the half assed solder bridges as well, I count a total of 24 points, so this is no big deal really. Also it is using a UBIcom chip and an hC73 just like RCE and the others that are developing the homebrew mod's on newz, I would be willing to bet its just a production lay out of there design along with ripped off code. I would also be willing to make this same statement about that rip off neo-12 chip.
Also with this poor design on the V9's they both have the chip under the heat shield on the back of the board, now you know that must make for a poor fit up. I can just see the shield now, all bulged up and looking like sh**!

Free Samples for the first 10
we are giving free samples of the apple 50k so you guys can test it and then you can talk about it, the chip works fine and is very easy to install so when you guys test it then you can talk , is true it uses ICE team code , our improvement was in the desing they are total 22 conections of 12 wires and 10 solder points and because it doesnt have wires in the bios conecction it make it more stable every booting time cuase it reduce the noise in the system so i can say this desing make it better
thanks it will be 10 pcs of apple 50k avaliable so if someone is interested contact us modchips-r-us.com |

well if it is free...
I am willing to do an impartial review - but do personally object to the miss use of the apple name when it is not an apple chip.... My only concern with these chips is like with the XBOX chips - dry joints are hard to spot when you directly solder a board to vias - if it can occur with the huge LPC vias on the xbox then this appears like it could be a major concern with the tiny vias on the PS2. (I have reverted to using pin headers for the xbox to avoid this problem) The other thing I would like to review it for is whether it actually represents a time saving when you take into account the fact that you need to scrape back every via first else you wont get a working connection. The bios connections have always been the easiest points on the V9s - the vias however are not so easy due to the thickness of conformal coating present on some boards.
