x2-the threat

All of the No-CD fixes seem to have negative side affects later in the game. Does anyone know of one that works correctly or some way to get around this? copying the Orginal CD wont work since its not a "normal" cd.

The cracked X2.EXE works fine. The only thing you have to do is to rename the original X2.EXE to X2.DEV !!!

You have to enable the option to show you all file extensions in Windows Explorer. In german it is: Extras -> Ordneroptionen -> Dateierweiterungen bei bekannten Dateien ausblenden .

Then you can mark the original X2.EXE (single left-click on it), then press F2 and rename it.

guod
tools -> folder options / View
remove check on Hide Extensions for known types

use some common sense. and if you can't rename a file by yourself, you probably shouldnt be here.
