DC Cable / Copy
When I send the Dreamrip.srec to the DC unit, nothing happens. I see the data being downloaded.
And then I change teraterm to receive the DC info, I let it run for hours, and nothing shows. And nothing is in the file. BTW, does anyone know what the boot CD or the Serial Slave are written in? I know they have been compiled. Anyway, any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

When the SREC is uploaded, I get a ton of stuff dumped on the TeraTerm screen. It looks like an object file for a compiled program. I have tried the macro, and I have tried just Receive-File-Xmodem-1K... and I always see the same stuff. I am running Windows 98 on a pentium with 384 meg on the motherboard. I have tons of drive space on D: and E:. I assume that since the upload appears to work (although I do not see any '>') that the PC can communicate with the DC unit. Any ideas? Or test plans? Or hopes? Thanks |

NO, if there is no >>>>>>>>>>>>> then its not uploading... try pluging a camera or something to the serial port. same thing. something must be wring with your cable. check all the connections on it, although you said no blue lines were coming on. its very possible you have a bad serial salve. where did you get yours? i got mine in the toolbox and burned it with dj 2.0. mess around with your tv and change the width and stuff to find that line. the blue line will show up no matter what. it did on mine before i got my cable in the mail..
what exactly happens on screen when you start up the serial slave? does the screen go black or stop anywhere?

So either there is a Win 98 issue, or perhaps there is an issue with the serial port itself. That is tomorrow's problem :-) Thanks to everyone for all of the help and information. .......Cameron |
