If you're trying to load a game with PW using a folder for each game, you're going to have problems. This works fine for DP, but with PW, the game's structure usually needs to be on the root just as it would on its own disc.

You asked about Borderdown... as far as I know, it must be booted from lba 45000. That's why the DP has that lba. DP can have any lba you want and most games will be fine booting from any lba. There are only a couple exceptions that I know of.

Some echelon intros can be removed, as long as they aren't compressed or recompiled into the bin. You can tell by looking at the bin in a hex editor. If you see "lib handle start" at the beginning, it's compressed and can't be removed. If you see anything else... just do a search for "lib handle start" and look for the first "0900" in hex. Delete to that point then binhack it and ur good to go. I just did this with a few of my games, but there are several I haven't gotten to yet. I thought that the into to Tennis 2K2 was removable, but I can't remember.
