I get black screen with DVD backups ???

I re did it all. Its 1000 times better now.

Just got to do the ones on the back.. check em all with a ohm meter and then i can see if this thing works.

It WORKSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!

I ripped all the wires off and cut everyone to fit. This time i used thicker wire for the ground and 3.3v.

Im not sure what the actual cause of the problem was in the first time.

The 2 things i did different this time was cut all the wires to fit and used thicker wires for ground, power.

Im not sure if using thicker wires would cause the backups not to work or not. Anyone know?

My camera is just a junk one so you cant see very good but you can sorta see..

Hello everyone!
I have got a brand new PS2(3 month ago). My model no. is SCPH-39004(PAL) & the mod-chip in it is MAGIC i duuno the exactly the model but i think it Magic 3 since they work with that model no.
I can turn off the chip also.
Here is the problem:-
First i have a CD-rom game of cricket-2002(backup) which works
on the ps2. i made a copy of it on my cd-writer with Roxio cd creator on a Sony CD-R but it doesnt load & gives error of insert playstation or PS2 format game. If i keep the button pressed till blue light appears(like for playing PS1 games) it displays the PS1 wordings & some"xxxxx---xxx" sort of thing no PS1 logo. Why cannot my PS2 read CD-r copy?
2.I know the instruction to play back-up like keep the disc in tray & put PS2 in standby & then boot so it all works fine but sometimes this does not happen & i get an straight error screen for "INSERT PS2 or PS1" game & sometimes it goes to the browser screen & then gives this error. This happens say 2 times out of 10. I'm using Light-Gold layered DVD-r's i duuno the name..
3. My disc tray was making grinding noises when i used to eject the tray only(only in horizontal position).So i opened my PS2 & ejected the tray a couple of times& now its not any making noises. Any ideas what was the problem here?
4. When i run backups of games like Splinter Cell ,FIFA 2004,MGS:2 Substance...etc.
I give example of FIFA when i select the network setup it says loading & then a new program for settings opens up no problem here... but when i select to go back to game it gives "Insert PS2 or PS1" game error. Same happens with Splinter Cell everytime i save a game & then resume... but when i reset & start from the previous save it works. This happens on backup of MGS:2 too, if i select skateboarding & then exit skateboarding to go back to game menu it gives this error.
What is the problem here. Is anyone is having these problems?? Is this a normal issue or is My PS2 a piece of junk!!

Jay, roxio easy coaster creator is about the sorriest software for PS2. Try using Clone cd or alcohol 120% with better media. I think you will have better results.

Hey thx! But im rigth now using my friend's backup for FIFA,MGS:,POP etc. So i get these errors.
I took it to the shop where i moded my PS2 he said it was a chip error because when my PS2 starts up & it show the "Sony Computer Entertainment" logo the bottom 2 hexagons are white he said they should not be white & all should be like the same above color's that is transparent white.
Anyone know any ideas on this? Did he screw up my PS2 while modding it?

My friend jsut got his backups one day to play some 2 player on my ps2. But they started giving these errors. My friend has the same model PS2. We got it modded with the same shop.
So i wanna know did the shop-keeper screw up my PS2 will it always give problems?

It’s probably the magic 3 you have in there. Think about upgrading to a magic V or apple pro or duo.

I had problems like that when I was using TDK media. I would get the Playstation 2 logo to pop up and then everything would stall and go black. It turned out to be the media. Try another brand.
