Bighap got it right m8ty....try using a good quality media...
I have been through this whole scenario many times with various cheap media and anyway it may seem a little more expensive to pay say £1 for a disc (sorry about the english money) but i have stuck to traxdata (ritek's own brand) and have had great success even burning at 4x
Another little bit of advice..(just my thoughts not others) but maybe try 'record max now' to burn the discs with as i have found that nero can be a bit glitchy and seems to use quite a lot of resourses when burning.
The other bit of advice given was spot on about applying disc labels ...don't bother...it's a no no...cos it tends to unbalance and overheat the discs and can cause them to skip .
