yeah 1 way to find out what it is dose it have a firewire port on front if so its not a v9 or 10 it would be a v7 and below or if u have a sony dvd remote point it at it w/out the cog pluged in and if it works its a v9 and there is one other way trun the system on no games and hit tringle it should show u the version number it will say 50001 or higher if its a 9 or 10
