backups freezing/skipping

I use Shrink then Nero. (only 3 times now so Im by no means an expert) I B/U my copy of The Eye and found it to skip, pause and pixelate (sp?). I checked the B/U via the HD and it appeared fine (in the spots that it happened). I burned another B/U AFTER I defragged the volume holding the BU and dropped my DVD Burn speed down to X1.

I should have tried it after the Defrag with X2 but I didnt.

So it seems you may want to defrag the HD and drop your burn speed. If that works up your burn speed.
