Help - Best DVD Writers ?

Hi.

I'm reletavely new to the whole back up scene, i use them on my own DVD player and PS2 but i was just wondering what are some of the good DVD burner's out there? and with what utilities should i have to use them with them? They will preliminary be used for making backups of PS2 games and DVD movies.

Thank you for any information you can give.
