nah u cant use a disc because without the chip.. the xbox would boot the msdash not evox...
i believe its the same was as the matrix.. like u put the chip in the programmer but the battery in the attach the serial to the computer use a flasher program (extreme-mods suggested http://www.extreme-mods.com/files/x2cable.zip) then u should be good
