what modchip did you use, better yet, was the original xbox dashboard still named xboxdash.xbe?
If you renamed the dash and don't have up to date bios, then the clock in the xbox would reset, and would not be able load the xbox dashboard because it is not named xxboxdash.xbe.
Also, which chip did you use? If you did a nosolder, they can slip out of place if the xbox is moved or bumped
