modchips.cc does not sell real Messiah's only the HK version - they do sell DUO though - and I can recommend them as decent people to deal with!
As to the instability... Never had any problems with DUO - ever! but can't say the same with Messiah... Heard fewer wires may be a possible problem with V8 onwards when using DVD-RW but the DUO is only for V1-7 anyway so <shrug> I would go the DUO
