Now I can't burn a disk correctly for this xbox to save my live. It hates everything i burn. I have a Pioneer A05 burner and use the Ritek 4x with the g04 dye. I also have tried a few various other media but no luck also.

I use the RecordNow Max data burn method, and even lower the record rate down to 1x but again no luck.

The xbox reads the disks but at random points in the game it stops and give me the 'dirty or bad disk error'.

At this point I got to think it is my xbox's dvd drive that sucks.

Here is my question(s) -Are these Thompson dvd readers known to be crap, what media is best for them and should I look at changing it out?

Hello , I also have a thompson dvd drive & there r some discs that it just wont read. I havent had any problems with the following Discs; Memorex +/- , Verbatims +/-, Phillips +/-, & TDK+/-.

Also when your using the Data method of burning make sure that your settings for udf DVD r as follows;

Recording type : Track @ once closed
File System Type : UDF - Up to 128 file length , any char, 8+3 tree bridge. U might want 2 try the iso method by using Qwix 1.01 then use rnm 2 burn the xiso image. So, give these a try & let me know what happens.

u can learn something from everybody .
