I took my ps2 to a "pro" for him to look at and he said that after about 45-60mins the disc starting spinnning faster. too fast he said and that the laser has trouble reading the disc and that is the noise i hear-hard hmmming sound.
he disconnected the chip and said the noise went down alot. what he is planning to do is put in other chip and see if the noise stays just as low. I think -been told by others- that it's the laser and try replacing that or the ba5815 chip if not the laser. I told him about that he said he checked the ba chip and it's fine but i wonder if you can really be sure without replacing it. I was thinking of just telling him to take off the wires and stuff and i'll take it to sony they said for 100CAN they would fix the ps2 no matter what's wrong. I think it's a heating problem and when the chip is removed not as much heat is generated i'll bet if he did attach another chip it would act up again. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated thanks, johnjohn13 |
