NEWBIE.. Help please

Well I know I'm gonna catch hell for this post but I have to do it.

I want to make "backup" copies of my PS2 games I have a DVD+R and the following programs to burn with:
DVD DECRYPTER and INTERVIDEO DVD COPY

I guess what I'm asking is what format do I copy the PS2 game to my computer is it ISO?

After it is on my computer do I just make it a DVD and burn it on the disc?

Sorry this is a hella newbie question.

I have a chip in my PS2 if that makes a difference.
