There have been known issues with the latest Cat drivers from ATI, 3.8 and now 3.9 apparantly making the game crash. I was running the 3.8 with no problems with other games but COD kept crashing, I reverted back to 3.7 and it has resolved the problem.

May be worth a try if your running an ATI card, I dont know how specific it is per card but im running a 9800 Pro.
