look...hackers and crackers have the same knowledge it's just the way they use it that changes the name...thus hacker is the person using his knowledge for practise or in order to imrove on some parts...of course this means he is entering to other computer networks but without harming any of the systems and many times they even send an e mail to the site's administrator informing him of the security problem they found and were able to get into the site's top information!well, the cracker does pretty much the same but when he is abe to do something baad he does it!he uses his knowledge for his own benefit and many times he harms a system for jst showing off!most of them are very young and everything they do is just use 3 or 4 programms that an older and more experienced cracker told them how to use in order to do something bad...these guys are the script-kiddies!

Of cakes, crackers & cookies

Crackers are NOT always the "bad guys" !

Aren't U guys forgetting that they also provide patches and even serials & keygens for shareware that some could not otherwise afford?

Now THAT is what I call community service..

I think the differences in hackers are like this. At least in the US.

White Hat Hackers = Hackers who bring awareness to other companies and are really not malicious in intent. Usually they play jokes without real harm to show companies/people to watch out for this type of hack.

Black Hat Hackers = Hackers who are malicious and have the intention to destroy or severly harm other companies or peoples work.

hmm... if that is so, then U forgot the gray hackers : those who harm powerful companies but NOT private people. Of these I most like the light gray hackers - those who actually help private users by providing cracks & serials.

So U see, hackers come in different shades of gray..

And what about the "Red Hat Hackers" - would they be those who specialize in Linux?

I know - I made them up...sorry, should have added an extra smiley after mentionning them. Here's 2 to make up:

Besides, shades of gray would be dull - I'd rather have hackers represented in a 24-bit color palette.

*ramble* *ramble* Now what was the topic again??

Bah, forget it...

It looks like Tages will be used in the US version of Spellforce 2.
This is going to be interesting.
