this is a known problem with the magic 3.x series (and in your case all its clones too)
back when i had magic3.1 on my machines i had the same problem you can do this (it worked for me) pick your codes and instead of replacing the ar disc for the game disc just leave in there and let it update the codes - ar should load again (no freezing) then pick the same codes and now replace the disc and the game should load........no "updating code list" screen should appear if it does then most likely you picked different codes/game. the problem is the updating code list screen......wait......no it's not....... the problem is the stupid chip with the stupid "Z" wire
