Medias
Hello guys.
I am under the impression that my Standalone device is unable to read CD-R and CD-RW DVDs. However, as it plays original DVDs, I'm pretty sure that it must be compatible with something. Is there any kind of blank DVD media that I can buy that will work on any device, some equivalent to the comercial 1 layer ones? If there is, is there any downside to them? Porr quality, terribly expensive, something of the sort? Thanks, guys... It's that I'm pretty dummie, and I'd like to be sure of that before I spend my money on blank DVDs. Regards .

Actually, I messed up. it does read CD-r and CD-RW.
What it won't read are DVD-R and DVD-RW. I'd like to know if there is any format of DVD recordable media that plays in any DVD, or if the older standalones, that does nor suppor the -R and -RW DVDs, are totally hopeless... Regards .

It either support dvd media or it doesn't. There is no high quality media that will change that. You can see what your dvd player supports here
