2 FUBAR'ed XBoxes

working on 2 of my buddies xboxes and i'm getting a boot-up error on both. 1 was working and i was just adding another modification to it and now neither will work.
don't know what happened, the soddering job is solid and i've tried working x2 lites in both and i'm getting the same error.

the only thing i can think of is the xbox was exposed to static some how. so i was wondering how could you find out and can it be fixed if that's the case.

also wondering if the xbox should boot up normally if the mod is unplugged from the wire harmess or do you have to desodder the wire harness from the motherboard.

Yes the XBox should boot up like normal with the modchip unplugged.

What mod did you do to the XBox that was working? Maybe if you undo the mod it will work again...

i only installed a on/off switch on the first and i've removed it and still nothing, but that still doesn't explain why the second is acting the same way.

just to let everyone know exactly what the problem is from the start.

-hit the power and it begins to boot-up normally, meaning that green blob pops up followed by the xbox logo.
-then it goes to the error screen with a 06 in the top left corner and the led is blinking greeen & red.

now the one with evox already on it goes to the superfro error screen and the new one i was working on goes to the default xbox error screen but both have a 06 on them, so i'm thinking that they both have the same prob i just don't know what that is.

Try this ...

Boot up in normal mode, with the CDrom & Original HD installed, set the time. After setting the time, install your new HD and switch the Mod chip on, if you can boot an original game at this point your good to go, just install slayers..

that's just it, i haven't tried to replace the HD, the 2 xbox's still have the original HD's in them and i can't even boot them up normally. i get that error screen with the 06 on it which i think means there is a HDD error.

Double check the HD and CDrom Cable, verify that the red stripe is still going to pin 1 on both devices, maybe check the cable were it leaves the motherboard ...

just tried all the connection and still nothing. i even tried different wires from a working xbox and double checked to make sure that everthing was hooked up properly.

i don't know what else to try, but i did look up what the 06 was for and it say it is: 6 - kernel - Cannot unlock HDD

not sure exactly what that means but i don't i would have 2 HDD's fail at the sametime so there has to be some common link.

now i'm totall mess up. the xbox with the x2 pro is now booting to the linux screen great but it won't accept the flash and when i turn the mod off it goes back to the error screen.

so if there is anyone out there that can help me i need to know if this malfunction is from the mod, HDD, motherboard or an instalation prob.

thanks in advance

hey, jive turkey if your not going to help someone out then keep it to yourself. don't worry about my friends, they know the score and they know i'll do what ever it takes to get them a working xbox.
beside you have other problems to deal with, like how to surf the internet all night with only one hand.

so please don't reply to this because this is as low & childish as this is going to get, also threats & witty banter are pretty hollow on the internet. so spare us all.

sorry to everyone, i think these forums are great therefore i'm looking for solutions not B.S.

hahaha well, I was curious since I was asked to help a local friend who thought he would make a fast buck off his "buddies" and screwed 1 up and lost a "buddy". It was a big ordeal since money was involved and they both blamed each other.

I didnt realize you are a big crybaby and ass. On the contrary I was blessed with 2 working hands so can surf effortlessly.

Threats and witty banter? Threaten me all you want - I doubt I'll ever have to see your whiny ass anyway since I'm not a babysitter.
