Well, the whole idea of off topic posts is that, well, they are off topic We (the mods) recently decided to experiment with allowing off topic threads, on the condition that they get clearly labeled with "OT" so other board members, like you, can avoid them. It's not an ideal situation, but it's an experiment. If things get out of hand, we can always go back to were we used to be.
