Yet this slow-read thing got me thinking too, that's 4 sure.

I thought of CD-R media compatibility at first, as ALL readers have their "preferences" and are known to slow down when reading with some CD-R(W) brands. Liteon has its own weak points.

But on the other hand U say the reading slowed down the same way on the ORIGINAL CD as well !?!

Then I thought, perhaps the CD is overburned, but even if it is, the 52246S can read and even write to 99 mins, at full 52x speed! (Tested it myself with CDspeed).

Alas I cannot think of a logical Xplanation, perhaps U R right:
