All set with a premod ps2?
I'm about to probably buy a Premoded PS2 with the Messiah 2 Pro chip installed.
Should I be all set to pretty much copy whatever game to a dvdr and have it play in there as long as I purchase a working DVDr? I realize that there are problems sometimes, but I'm saying with that chip should a majority of them work by just copying the original disk? Is it best to copy the DVD to the harddrive first and then burn it with the DVDr? I don't need any special DVDROM drive to read the DVD do I? I just don't want to spend the money to buy this, only to find out I can't get anything to work. So in essence discs could be copied and the copy would run fine with the PS2 without swapping? Sorry, I'm a newbie at this, and did read the newbies guide. As far as I've read the Messiah 2 Pro is one of the best modchips out there. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! ~J |

Yea the mod works. All you really need to worry about is making sure you get the right discs to copy with - Optodisc is a good one. No special dvd drive is needed to read the disc, but most folks here - myself included - have a pioneer a05 that we use to burn **** with. I wasted 40 bucks on some dvdr's that either dont read well in the ps2 or copy program im using isnt doing it right - although im fairly sure its the medium.

A 16x dvd-rom drive is a very good investment to get for dvd burning. Not only will it read faster than your burner, but it will also cut back on the wear and tear of your burner.
